Vincent Kompany may not have much experience but the 38-year-old is confident in his role as Bayern Munich boss.
Vincent Kompany insists that feeling pressure as Bayern Munich manager is not on his mind, with the challenge of getting the Bavarians back on track, Ufabet Germany reported on Tuesday.
Bayern Munich have surprised everyone by bringing inexperienced Kompany, who recently led Burnley to relegation from the Premier League, ยูฟ่าเบท to take over as manager from Thomas Tuchel on a three-year deal.
The Bavarians are reportedly paying Kompany a salary of €7-9m a year, on par with Tuchel and more than his two predecessors Julian Nagelsmann and Hansi Flick.
‘The main goal of the team is to write the next page. Pressure or no pressure, it’s not something that comes to my mind. I’m here to work with the players and the staff. If they work hard, if they do everything on a daily basis, then we have a good chance to be a top team again.’
‘Sometimes you know more about top players when you lose. When you lose, that’s when top players show up. I think this is the best time to rise to the challenge,’ Kompany said.
Bayern’s first pre-season friendly encounter comes on 24 July against local outfit Rottach-Egern, with two matches against Harry Kane’s former side Tottenham Hotspur planned on 3 August in Seoul and 10 August in London.
Kompany’s competitive debut will come in the DFB Cup first round against Ulm (16 August), before Bayern open their bid to reclaim the Bundesliga crown at Wolfsburg the following weekend.
